Hiker Accident

On July 8, 2024 a 49 year-old female hiker from Hunter, NY fell off the 40' ledge by the old Catskill Mountain House. She sustained significant injuries, and was taken to the hospital by LifeNet. Click image for more details (July 8)

Hiker Faints

On July 4, 2024 a 16 year-old had problems with fainting on a hike to Terrace Mountain and Lean-to. Ranger Martin helped the hiker back to the parking area, where they were transported to the hospital. Click image for more details (July 4)

Electrocution

On May 23, 2024 a 24 year-old man was electrocuted on North Lake Road while working for a tree clearing service. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Helicopter. Click image for more details (May 18)

Camping Fire

On May 18, 2024 a car camper at North-South Lake caught on fire and was completely destroyed. The fire then spread to the forest next to the camper. Click image for more details (May 18)

Ranger Killed

On April 25, 2024 Ranger Robbi Mecus was kill in a 1,000 foot fall on Mount Johnson in Denali National Park. She will be dearly missed by many. Click image for more details (Apr 25)

Hiker in Danger

Hiker falls off ledge
