Taken from the bottom of Paradox Waterfalls. There is a large rock at the bottom of the photo which blocks the view of the water hitting the bottom. Photo was taken with a Canon T3i
Taken from a ledge part way down the waterfalls. The ledge is difficult to get to and take a picture from. Photo was taken with a Canon T3i
On the south side of Kaaterskill Clove, upward (south) from Buttermilk Falls. Off-trail hiking in that ravine is for the intrepid only - it's more climbing than hiking, the area is wet year round and the stone is rotten. If you have the equipment and skills for technical ice climbing, it might actually be safer to get up that ravine in winter. A lot of it looks as if it would be WI4-5, possibly with some dry tooling as well. One of the cascades of Buttermilk Falls might be even harder. The ravine is also heavily vegetated, and the frequent rock movement makes for a lot of blowdown. Below the Long Path is worse than above it.
I'm not lost. I know exactly where I am. I'm right here.
