On July 26 at 2:09 p.m., Ray Brook Dispatch received a call about a severely dehydrated hiker near Kaaterskill Falls. At 2:34 p.m., Forest Ranger Black and Assistant Forest Ranger Zeleznik reached the 46-year-old from Northport, NY. The hiker only ate one granola bar the entire day. Rangers provided a glucose packet and water. The subject walked out on their own and refused further medical attention.
