Shaupeneak Ridge - Scenic Hudson (Esopus)

Hiked some trails there yesterday. Hadn't been there in awhile. Found the Hudson River Overlook obstructed by over growth. Otherwise a pleasant morning.

This area was once called 'snake hill', with a quarry on one of the smaller knobs to the north, that was blasted in the winter time back in the 1800s and blew a pile of snakes everywhere, hence the name given. I've been all over up there, around the pond, to the sumit, nice place, too shady for snakes, glad to hear someone else has been up there, I've never seen anyone other than locals jogging by, etc.
I am a firm believer that everything can be made better, which, technically, means everything has something wrong with it.
