Kenny, we'll have to get out again soon.
We have been doing some simple short hikes lately. The weather hasn't been that good.

Re: New Joiner
No, the weather hasn't been great.
I planned a short-mileage 4-day backpack in Harriman (Sterling Forest to Bear Mountain with a party of 12 humans and two dogs) over Martin Luther King. We had to get two of the hikers off trail on the second day and by the end of the third we all decided we'd had enough and just hiked through. The second night, we ran into a group of Scouts preparing for Klondike Derby. They decamped in the wee hours and night-hiked out because their winter gear wasn't up to the challenge. (For what it's worth, I slept warm.)
And now I look out the window and see the bluebird day and have this urge to pull on my snowshoes and go ... anywhere, really. But I have too many other things to do.

I'm not lost. I know exactly where I am. I'm right here.
