Balsam Lake - 5/14/2013

On Tuesday I hiked Balsam Lake with my brother. This was his first high peak. He has also hiked Giant Ledge and Accra Point. This is by far the furthest high peak for me to get to at 2 and a half hours. The weather was great, though when we got on top of the Fire Tower the wind made it really cold. We were the only people doing the hike. I did see in the register box the first time I hiked this mountain last August. It was a really busy day with nearly the whole page of people who hiked it on the same day.
The Fire Tower sign at the parking lot was on the ground.
While we didn't need any water, it is good know there is a spring towards the top of the mountain. It is just past the 3,500' sign.
View of Graham from the Fire Tower.
The Forest Ranger building and the Devil's Path in the background. Does anyone know what those other high peaks in the middle? Balsam and Eagle?
On the top of the Fire Tower looking down. It was freezing with the wind.
Here I am posing.
