Rich K and I are going to be hiking Kaaterskill High Peak from Gillespie Road.

You can check out the hike here: http://www.catskillmountaineer.com/KM-KHPwest.html

If you want to go on the hike with us, just PM, Email, or post here.

I hope to make it to this hike, but I can't say for certain right now that I van make it. How rough is the road to the parking area? I drive a small car that is pretty low to the ground.

I seem to recall that Gillespie Road is (barely) passable to a small car. If Mike and RIck tell us it's better avoided, I have an Explorer, and I can shuttle you from the grocery store in Tannersville or something. Or we could start at the Cortina Lane parking area, the road is decent to there.
I'm not lost. I know exactly where I am. I'm right here.

And since we'll be right by Tannersville, is dinner afterward at Pancho Villa's a must? :)

I've got no problem meeting up somewhere before hand. It is just I am a 2 hour drive from the Catskills, so I won't be able to meet up too early.

Pancho Villas? What kind of food is it? I've never eaten in Tannersville or Hunter before. I usually go to Brio's in Phoenicia. I'm always up for trying new places.

We can car pool from grocery store in Tannersville. I have an Outback, so can drive up the road. We usually eat at the Last Chance. It's the locals preferred place. It's similar to Brio's. But, we can try Pancho's.

I'm figuring that we would meet around 9am. I know that Rich is also driving up from NJ. Maybe you guys can car pool?

Lots of things to see on this hike. Great views too.

Wish I could make the hike and the restaurant!

Unsolicited feedback is that both Ponchos and Last Chance are GREAT! Nothing like the Brie at Last Chance, but can't go wrong with either!

The Grand Union on 23A on the west side of the village, I presume. Is there another one? (There's a convenience store at the Citgo, and a quirky general store, and an equally quirky organic food market.)
