Yeah, I guess my back up plan will be to go to Kaaterskill Falls and then hike around at lower elevations. I'd rather not hike in snow/slush/ice by myself even if people know where I'll be!

It is just a guess that it will snow in the higher elevations. You can just see when you get there. If you drive up the thruway you can usually tell if there is snow in the mountains.

I was up on Fir and Big Indian last weekend and the bushwack between the two was tough w/o snowshoes. Most people were post holing up to their knees.
Was up near Acra Point yesterday, snow on the trail but nothing a normal boot couldn't handle. Most of the trail didn't have snow.
