Hiking during hunting season
The problem of hiking safely during regular hunting season comes up every November. We love to get out there on our favorite Indian Head trails. Is there anywhere that it is best NOT to go in this area until after 12/9 - even with blaze orange? We don't worry so much about bow or muzzleloaders. Thanks!

Re: Hiking during hunting season
Wearing blaze orange is important. Many people do continue to hike during the hunting season. Stay on the trails, and avoid bushwhacks. Sometimes people will hike around North-South lake where they cannot hunt. The Escarpment Trail is also good. Or, people hike where it is difficult for hunters to get to, or is too far away to drag the animal out.

Usually hiking on the trails isn't a problem. Wear an orange vest.

Thanks guys. Just being extra cautious. Don't want to be one of those statistics.
