Snow level for this weekend

Unread post by mike »

Today the snow line was around 3,000' to 3,500'. By this weekend, the snow will be gone in many places.

Thanks Mike. I'm assuming that with the warm weather and the expected rain tomorrow that there should be not much left by Saturday.

My friend and I are planning to climb Wittenberg on Saturday to the high campsite(~3300ft), then in the morning summit and go to Cornell and back to the car.

Hopefully it's not too wet from all the melted snow and rain. =)

The snow line near Blackhead was around 3,500' this morning. I think you will be fine on Saturday/Sunday. There might be a little ice on your approach to the top of Wittenberg. That side of the trail is fairly protected from the sun. I would bring Microspikes. The Cornell Crack might be interesting if you venture over to Cornell. You can also get around the Cornell Crack.

A thumbs up for this coming weekend!
