Anyone know of a nice area that's not private land where I can explore Catskill Creek in the Cairo area? Obviously do not want to trespass on anyone's land and can't seem to find any dedicated parks.
Thanks!

Go to greenegovernment.com and check out the GIS data. You see who owns land and where. Look for State Land or land pointing to town/village ownership.

Thanks Mike. That's a great site! What's the best way to know what's private and public land though? Do I have to click on each parcel individually and check owner names?

Yeah...pretty much.Do I have to click on each parcel individually and check owner names?
Ownership is usually the State or town. Like if you see Town of Hunter, then it is State land. What's the best way to know what's private and public land though?
Greene County did a real fine job of getting this GIS site up. Very complete and up to date. Ulster county GIS site is a disaster.

if you see a link to download the shapefile, post it here and I can load it into GIS and color code it... I just don't see the link anywhere
