The trees are starting to change. I noticed today that Blackhead Mtn is turning pretty good. Probably another 7-10 days before peak.

The leaf foliage around Hunter and Windham is getting close to Peak. Other regions are still far behind. Drive thru earlier today. South of Hunter (Rt 28) and it is mostly Green.

The leaf foliage is unreliable. The tops of the trees have changed significantly, but underneath the canopy the leaves are green. Did get a few pictures.

I don't see a hard frost coming, so I think that we might get a lot of brown leaves this year.

If the weather report is correct, we should get a hard frost this weekend in the higher elevations. This should make the leaves under the canopy turn quickly. Should be a great weekend for hiking. Possible change of rain on Columbus day.

We hiked up to Twin Mtn today. there was a wind storm that took down many trees. Above 3250' ALL the leaves are gone! From 2000-3000' about 40% of the leave are fallen.

When I passed thru Windham today on Rt 23 towards Catskill, the leaves are completely gone along the road. Mt Zoar still have leaves, and some are green. Wherever the wind was blowing, the leaves are gone. As soon as you start down the mtn, the leaves are green and turned.
