Most of the trail is fairly flat, with the exception of one end which runs down a steep slope full of blue-stone slabs. The steep section with boulders doesn't seem like a good path for snowmobiles. But, it should be great for hikers. ATV's will not be able to use the path. Most of the path followed the old herd path. There is still a small section of the herd path for hikers.
