Road to Pisgah/Richmond
The dirt road up to the col of Pisgah and Richmond has been snowed in all winter. Does anyone know if it is open yet? This is the road on the south side, not the South Access Area.

There is still snow about half way up the long road. About 6-12 inches. The road might be passable by this weekend.
The new parking lot is open.
The beetle infestation has now moved further towards Mt Pisgah. There are present right near the handicap trail to Pisgah. So, check yourself before leaving. Especially if you go into the conifer forest. We don't want to spread this little pest.

It is located on the left side of Pisgah Road. Just before the entrance to the other road. Just drive down the road until you reach the new parking lot. It will support about 25 cars. There is a dirt road that will take you across the clear-cut section.

Last Sunday, it still had over 6" of snow with ice underneath it. We hiked it today, and had no problem driving over it. We have not had a chance to check on Ashland Pinnacle upper road.
