14 year-old girl disappears from camping at NS Lake

Wilderness Rescue: On the morning of July 15 a 14 year-old girl disappeared from her mother's tent at North-South Lake Campgrounds. After searching for her without finding her, she called for help. The DEC received a call at 11:05am, and Ranger Dawson responded to a search for a missing 14-year-old at North-South Lake Campground. Five additional Rangers and additional DEC Operations Staff joined the effort, in addition to New York State Police and Hunter Police. At 5:15 p.m., searchers located the subject approximately 1-3/4 miles from her parent's tent. She was in good condition at Kaaterskill Falls Bridge and brought her back to her family at the campground.
