Question on water sources/camping on the escarpment trail
Can anyone comment on what the water situation is currently on the escarpment trail? I'd like to do a backpacking trip next month. I know it's very dry but I've read that there are reliable springs at Batavia Kill and Dutcher Notch. My sources are a couple years old so just wanted to double check before heading out. Also, I read the shelter at Batavia Kill was demolished but haven't been able to find if it was replaced or not. Any other escarpment trail tips would be appreciated. Thank you

I can only speak about Dutcher. There is a water source, mostly reliable, east of the notch about 1/2 mile. You can't camp at the trail jct., although it looks like some folks do. Just go 150' back in the woods.
