Hello,
I am looking for history on the Platte Clove area, particularly in the Roaring Kill area, near the trailhead for The Devils Path trails.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: History on Platte Clove area
The road from Woodstock to Platte Clove was heavily used in the 1800's. They also did a lot of blue stone quarry transporting to Saugerties. I have heard that there was a mill there also. The Mountain Top Historical Society in Haines Falls would have the answer. http://www.mths.org/

Thanks Mike.
There is an old foundation on my family property near the Roaring Kill. I am trying to determine if it was a home, tannery, logging mill, etc. I have been to the Greene County library, talked with town historians and many others. Can't seem to pin it down.
