Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain: Any off-trail attractions?

Unread post by MChanning »

I will be doing this hike over the next week or two and was wondering if anyone has found any interesting sites/attractions in the area surrounding the trail. Also, it looks like there is a stream about 1,000 ft to the east of the dip between Giant Ledge and Panther mountain; has anyone ever checked it out? Thanks!

The big WOW is Giant Ledge. There are views on Panther too. I don't recall much off the trail worth visiting.

Anybody check out the spring on the giant ledge trail recently? Is there water there? Thanks.

The Spring on the south side of Giant Ledge has always been very reliable. But, it has been a very dry summer. My guess is that it is flowing well. We had a lot rain (about 5") last week, so that should have helped a lot.
