Nice TR Kevin. I have been on the top of Ashland Pinnacle. You didn't miss much. There is also a road that comes in after Ashland Pinnacle where you can hike to Huntersfield Mtn. You were not that far away either.
Yes, it is quite a mess where they were target shooting. There was snow covering up much of the mess when I was there. I picked up quite a bit. But, there was still a lot of garbage on the ground. Don't understand why they can't clean up after themselves.
We think that the conifer forest was planted in the 1930's during the depression. Commonly done back then. Beautiful walk! Then the slog back up to the car. Glad to see you had a good time.
