Westkill Post Thanksgiving Storm

Unread post by biscut »

I'm not sure if I'll be able to squeak out some time but I just might be able to! i was thinking of Westkill. I only have Panter (summer and winter); and Balsam Lake on my 39 hikes! With some snow coming it's looks like a perfect view can be had (weather cooperating of course). Anyone have some rough estimates of time for this one in winter? I would love to just bring the micro spikes and leave the crampons and snow shoes in the car! Is this often an icy one?

It is suppose to snow tomorrow, and stay cool through the weekend. Will probably get at foot on top of both of these peaks. Both can have icy sections. If someone before you, breaks trail, you might be able to get away with just microspikes.

Here in Hopewell Jct. I got about 8" and some ice to cap it off! What did the Hunter/Westkill Catskill's region see?
