Peekamoose and Table 2014-08-17

Unread post by kennykb »

I made a quick trip to Peekamoose and Table on Sunday. The Peekamoose parking lot was full to overflowing, so I drove another quarter mile or so and parked at the turnout for Bear Hole.

Trip report on my blog.

Roughly 3000 feet of elevation gain on this hike. I can see why this site says to do Table and Peekamoose from Denning! :)

Haven't gone that way in a great many years. There is a WHOLE lot of elevation to climb.

Sometimes when people are hiking from Denning they knock off Lone too. But, the bushwhack to Lone is quite difficult.

Since I was just up to Lone last month, I didn't really have much of an inclination to go there again, especially with the leaves still on the trees. I saw a faint herd path heading off to the north from a little bit above the col between Peekamoose and Table, and I surmise that's where it goes.

That's a real nasty route. Starts out okay, then it get ugly. I would slip the trip over to Lone.
