Devil's Kitchen

Unread post by tennant »

After a day of heavy rains, the Devil's Kitchen area really came alive. This set of cascades is just upstream of the bridge over Hell's Hole along the Platte Clove Road.

Nice photo Chris. At first I thought it was shut from under the arch bridge, but then realized that you were a little upstream. If you had gone further, you would have seen the upper hells hole falls. They are pretty. But, I like the sharpness of your photo and the water. It is very pleasing to the eye.

Thanks Mike. I did venture further upstream, but the sun had peaked over the trees - the direct light on the water was making it difficult to get a good image. There is also the problem (aesthetically, anyway) of having too much water. It's nice to have some texture. There were several falls I visited on this day that were just white, foamy, froth.
