Hiker injuried in Spruceton Valley
On Saturday, November 12, 2011, a 56-year-old woman was injured while hiking in the Spruceton Valley. We were told that she was injured about 1.5 miles up the trail. She fell and broke her arm and leg. An unconfirmed report stated that she had head injuries. She was Medi-Vac'ed to Albany Medical Center around 4-5 PM on Saturday. On Friday we had some snow on the MountainTop (above 2,000'). The trail had an 1-or-2" of snow and was icy and slippery. The DEC, DEP, and local rescuers participated in the rescue. We wish her a quick and speedy recovery.

I think she fell on North Dome or up to St Anne. The mileage would be about right. But, I could be wrong.
