ALL trails are close in Ulster & Greene County

Unread post by dave »

The NYS DEC has announced that they are closing ALL trails in Ulster and Greene County until further notice. Right now guesstimates are that the trails will be closed for another week. Additionally, all campgrounds are also closed in the Catskills.

The trails aren't that bad. Some bridges are gone, but you can get across most of the streams. They are busy doing other things, so they don't want to have to deal with people issues.

Personally, I don't think that they should have closed Greene Cty.

Will be on the trails reguardless of nys dec mandated warnings. Private land trails in the Catskill Region that is. I doubt warnings will be posted at Trail Heads. If so use user discretion. Saw atleast a 500 lb. bear yesterday somewhere in the central catskills. Wonder if this is due to the minimal impact in the eastern, southern, and central regions of the catskill region. Come on out and play.........Happy Trails ;)
