I am pretty sure that the Albergo Allegria is just fine. It wasn't in one of the disaster zones. The center of Hensonville had a underground culvert overload, and water came thru the center of town and down the side road.

I'm out of the country and can't seem to be able to get info on E Jewett. Friends on Colgate rd.
My property is in Jewett and was contacted by neighbors that all is fine.
Had someone drive from 296 towards East Jewett this afternoon. Road is in rough shape. Was able to get to Barnum Road (his destination). My understanding is that Colgate Road is in very rough shape and impassible. Mainly damage. No loss of life. Maplecrest Road is a horror zone. As we get further into some of these regions, we will learn more.

Thank you for any updates.
I know all the residents and they are a very resourceful bunch.
This may be, i believe, a bit different. (i still cannot make contact)
Clearly no-one is starving but potable water is key to those without power for
more than a few days.
I just hope that this basic need is realized and considered. Just hope that those in need are
prepared.

All of the Mountaintop is without power. Those who have generators, have power.

There is very limited land-line service. You can only call locally. You cannot get outside of the Mountaintop.

Cell service is down in most areas. Very limited in others.

911 is down in Greene County for the Mountaintop. Okay in the rest of Greene County. 911 is working in Ulster county.

No Internet, unless you have satellite. Fiber has been ripped up in many areas.

People who are land-locked or stranded have been serviced by the National Guard Helicopters. The National Guard have saturated the area. Some have been transported to Windham Mountain Ski Center. Mainly out of Maplecrest and Prattsville.

Communications are very limited. It is almost impossible to reach people in this area. Telephone poles are down in many areas.

If you don't have power yet, you probably will not have it until Sunday.

We were just in Windham a few days before the hurricane. This is just sad, so sad.

Batavia Kill along the Acra Loop trail just days before the hurricane:

Albergo Allegria was used as a staging point for collection of clothing and other relief items. Many thanks to them for providing excellent service to mountaintop residents...

We were just there a couple of weekends ago staying at Albergo Allegria on Rt. 296 in Windham. That B&B has a special place in our lives. My wife and I went there on our first weekend getaway together almost ten years ago and only now got a chance to go back. We hiked the Acra Loop trail.

Anyone knows if Albergo Allegria and other hotels in the neighborhood made out ok ?

Our thoughts and prayers are with the residents and businesses of Windham!
