Death Valley in December

Unread post by SNEAKers »

I'm planning a trip to Death Valley for mid December. On the agenda is a slot canyon (or two), Badwater basin, Dante's (if accessible), Mesquite sand dunes, the crater and, most importantly, Racetrack Playa all day and night on 12/13 to watch the meteor shower.

Anyone been to Death Valley and have some suggestions in addition to the above? With the park being roughly the size of CT, there's LOTS to see.

I haven't been to Death Valley in many years. I was there in April, and it was over 100 degrees. December might be nice. The Sierra's are not that far away either. Mt Whitney is just a couple hours away. It has been too many years for me to make a good recommendation.

Internet-wise, I know lots of people who rap DV slots.

You might search this forum. http://www.summitpost.org/phpBB3/california.html
