On Sunday afternoon (February 17, 2013), four men got stuck on a non-commercial (home-made) Zip Line in the Platte Clove. Two of the men got stuck in the middle of the zip line, while two other men got stuck on the ends of the line. The zip line was connected between two trees. Due to the high winds the zip line became "derailed" and stranded the two men. On Sunday it was very cold and windy with wind gust up to 40 mph.

The Tannersville fire department was called to rescue the four men. The men were stuck on the zip line for an hour. They had to be treated for hypothermia. They were not physically injured.

Unconfirmed reports that they were zip lining by Plattekill falls, which is on Catskill Center land. From what we understand, they were not zip lining across Devil's Kitchen.
