This documentary shows that Greene County is where the nation’s first unbreakable iron plow, the chemical process for color photography and the high-speed press, were all created. The Hudson River School also got its start in Greene County, as well as James Fenimore Cooper setting the “Last of the Mohicans” in Greene County.“ In the aggregate, it is an extraordinary story,” said Jonathan Donald, the director who lived in New York City but has had a home in Greene County for years. He will also be attending the showing. The documentary is rich in music and period entertainment: a Dutch Tavern scene in 1688, a Thomas Cole Musical Evening in 1840 and a Jenny Lind concert in 1851. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to discover fascinating history right in your own back yard.

Went to see it tonight. Had a good time. Learned a lot from the movie. You can buy the DVD. I will have to find the web site and post it. It was a little warm in the building, but still good.
