Skier Killed at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, Brendan McCue, age 27, from Little Falls New York was killed at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl. He was skiing on a trail at Hunter North with a group of friends. Hunter North is a new trail system on the north side of the ski mountain (different from the summit of Hunter Mountain). The trails run down where the Belt Way trail links the East side from the West side of the ski mountain.
There was a snow storm on Saturday. It is reported that Mr McCue lost control and run off the trail into the rock. He suffered massive chest injuries, and was killed instantly. There was no information if he caught an edge or lost control another way. He was transported to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady New York for an autopsy.
