Hunter Mtn had a record number of visitors this weekend. This is one of the reasons why Rt 23a was closed. Many could not get up the hill, and there was a record number of people. From what I understand the gridlock extended from Hunter Mtn to Palenville.

Hunter Mtn had further problems with parking. 20% of the parking lot was filled with snowbanks. This caused more gridlock, because people could not find a place to park.

Hunter Mtn had problems processing credit cards when they lost Internet connections. They then had to use modem dialups. This caused even more delays in getting people on the mountain.

The Village of Hunter and Tannersville had the State bring up two snowblowers to help clear the streets. Greene Cty also brought up a truck. Jewett was in rough shape. ALL of their equipment broke due to the snow. The amount of snow was very rough on the equipment.

It is reported that the largest snowfall ran from Hunter Mtn over to Elka Park. It then moved to Tannersville, and then to Blackhead Mtn and finally to Acra.

It is reported that they have heavy equipment up in Batavia Valley clearing the streets.

If it gets warm quickly, or we get rain, we could get epic flooding. Hopefully, it will melt slowly. It is suppose to be 45 degrees this weekend with sunny weather. Should help melt some of the snow slowly.

It is melting fairly quickly. This weekend should be in the 40's, and melt a lot. By next week there should be some pretty good mud holes.

I heard today that the mountaintop got an equivalent of 10 inches of rain during the last snow storm. If this coming rain storm produces lots of rain, flooding could be massive. In any event, we will lose a lot of snow.
