Hiker injured at Kaaterskill Falls

A teenager from New Jersey had hiked down to the Dog Monument. She slipped off the narrow ledge and fell down near the basin. His fall is estimated to be about 140' down. He sustained substantial injuries. Several fire departments were called in to extract him, and take him down to Rt 23 to a waiting ambulance. Total time to reach and extract him was 1-3/4 hours. We don't have an update on his condition after reaching the hospital.
