A drought has been a problem in the Catskills for the past couple of months. Many streams have dried up. Most springs on hiking trails are dry. If you plan on hiking in the Catskills, you need to bring water.
Like many springs in the Catskills, this spring at Dutcher's Notch is completely dry
Escarpment Trail:
Spring near Elm Ridge: Dry
Batavia Kill Creek by Lean-to: Dry down to the parking lot on Big Hollow Road
Spring on trail up to Lockwood Gap: Dribbling
Dutcher's Notch Spring: Dry
Stream near camping spot on the Colgate Trail: Dry (hike another 1/4 mile to find water)
Springs on North Mtn: Dry
