On last Saturday, the rains brought down a lot of leaves. Then on Sunday, the high winds blew even more leaves off the trees. The more vibrant colored leaves fell, and left the brown leaves. There is still some foliage, but the colors have become more dull. This is the end of the foliage season for the Catskill Mountains. There is still some foliage in the Hudson Valley.

With the rains on Thursday, the more vibrant colored leaves fell. Mainly the yellow ones. The foliage now has more browns and reds, then yellow and oranges. While the foliage is still good, it is not as good as last weekend. We are expecting rain on Saturday. It is also expected to be breezy on Sunday. So, we expect more leaves to fall. If you wanted to see the foliage, this weekend will be the last. Lower elevations will be better.

The leaf foliage is just getting started. We had some temperatures down near freezing, so we are hoping for a colorful Fall foliage. Right now we do not see any browning. The foliage may come earlier then normal. Generally, we reach peak between the 2nd and 3rd week of October. If it remains cold, then it may come sooner then normal.

2,400'+ elevation - 2% changed - 0% Fallen
