westkill June 6

One way hike over westkill using devil's path up west peak, to summit, then down to end of Spruceton Road. Curiously, DEC sign said trip would be 8.7 miles on one end, 8miles on the other end. Listed vertical of 2050' but might be a bit more. Westkill was my 12th mountain of the CGT 37 list (just another peakbag list for the the 84/87 corridors- (Catskill-green-taconic 3700 footers).
This hike was great, unspoiled forest on the west ridge and summit, great views at summit, nice descent down mountain to the stream on the east side. Nice campsite below the east side of west summit, at foot of 30 foot outcrop.
It took my 2:40 to reach the summit area, Total hike was five hours with 40 minutes on the ledge. here are a few photos from lousy go phone.
