Hiked the Hunter loop trail on Friday. Nice weather. Long slug up to the fire tower. Views were good, but a little hazy. Could not get into the cabin on top of the fire tower. Made a few friends along the way. Ran into an older couple of guys who hike in Florida. Talked about some of the differences. Ran into another guy on the tower. He and his wife took the chair lift ride up from Hunter for $8. Ran into two young guys from NYC area suburbs. They were hiking overnight. Talked with them for a good 1/2 hour. Told them were to get water and camp for the night. Ran into a couple other people.
First day to with new hiking boots. My one toe was a little sore. Hadn't been hiking in 3 weeks and I could fee it. Had a good time.
