Heloise Lake Loop

I have done a couple small hikes over the past couple of weeks. Nothing great. On Saturday, we headed to Heloise Lake. we planned on doing the loop between Hayden and Ginseng. It is a fairly easy hike that lasted about 4.75 miles. It was a nice day with the sun out and it was above freezing. At the parking lot there was no snow. Once we got up near Barlow Notch, the ground was covered with about an inch of fresh snow. On the way up the water was running good, and the mud was a little bit of a problem. Once we got up higher, we put on our microspikes. We hiked from the notch to the top of the hill. Lots of animals tracks. Not that many deer, but lots of other animals. The hike from the hill to the base of Ginseng was real nice walk. Once at the base of Ginseng Mtn we took the trail back down. Part way down we took a side path (old logging road). The old logging road led to the the valley. But, we turned around and hike around the cirque. Pleasant day to be out hiking. Probably will not see a nice warm day like this one until Spring. I didn't take many pictures.
