Huntersfield

Unread post by mike »

Every Spring we do a hike on Huntersfield Mtn. We had planned on hiking on Saturday, but the weather wasn't so good, so we decided on Sunday. We wanted to do the Huntersfield Loop. We were able to drive up Jim Cleveland Road to the top. Little bit of snow at the top, but we didn't have a problem driving to the pass. We then started to hike up the trail with microspikes. Sometimes there was snow, and other times we didn't have snow. It was a little windy, but not terrible. We cleared some of the trail of limbs and logs. As we got near the top, the snow got deeper. Post holed a little bit.

After we got to the top, we decided to not do the loop. There would be more snow on the North side. After I checked it out, and confirmed it, we decided to head back down. Still a nice day. The views were a little hazy, so no pictures.

It was a short hike, but we still had fun. By next weekend, the trail should be real nice.
