Arrived at the Panther Parking Lot at 8:45 AM. Waited until 9:15 AM for Steve. But he was a no show. By 9:15 AM the parking lot was filling up pretty quickly. Hiked rocky trail up to the first trail junction. Took nice walk along the flat section towards Giant Ledge. Checked up the Spring, but someone pulled out the pipe???? Go figure! Continued climb up the trail. Spend time at all five ledges. Ran into a couple nice groups of people.
Continued on to Panther. Climbed up rock near summit. Clouds blocked the view
. Continued to summit. Looked at view. Continued to the view past the summit. VERY nice walk. Best view on Panther is on the north side. Clouds were starting to clear when I got to this view point. Could see the Ashokan Reservoir. Just barely.Probably saw over 100 people hiking. Temps were around 53 degrees most of the hike. Still hiked in shorts and a tee shirt.
