EZ- Find Parking

So I was working on a project with some google maps and I discovered a really cool integration. With Google Maps and My places on an android phone (still have to test it with Iphone) I can now painlessly navigate to the parking lots of the Catskills.

It's always a pain to find things on google maps on the PC, and then have to go on your mobile phone and find the location again to get the driving directions there with the GPS.

I will share this link with everyone here:

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=20 ... 63ef&msa=0

This should be the perma link for the points which are saved on this map. If you visit this link in a web browser on a PC it will take you to the web page. If you visit this link on a phone it might launch in Google Maps.

You can save or bookmark the link, or you can save it to your "my maps" which is an extension of your Gmail account.

If you have a google account you can save this map to your "my places" by following this step:

Now that a map is added to your "my places" you can find it easily on any PC by going to google maps, and then clicking the "my places" button and logging in. You will then see any of the maps you have created or added.

To find it easily on your android device, and have it launch your GPS navigation to the parking area of your choosing just follow these 4 easy steps:

I will hopefully be adding more parking lots in the future. These are just some of the main ones I could remember from climbing the 3500.

I think this feature has been available on google for quite a while, but you had to register, and jump thru a lot of hoops to get there. But, a pretty cool feature. Thanks for outlining how to make it work. I think VO maps had all the PA's listed on it. But, they are out of business now.
