Regular (gun) hunting season opens Saturday November 21 and closes December 13, 2009. You can read more from the following DEC links:

Bear Season: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28602.html

There are also some restrictions on hunting bucks this year: A pilot program is in place to reduce harvest of young bucks in four WMUs located primarily in Ulster and Sullivan Counties. The new regulations REQUIRE that bucks taken in WMUs 3C, 3H, 3J and 3K have at least one antler with 3 points (or more) which are at least one inch long. This restriction applies to the archery, regular and muzzleloading seasons.
