Black Bears

Unread post by dave »

Due to the large number of Acorns and Hickery Nuts black bears have been leaving the mountain tops and traveling down to the valleys in search of these bumper crops of nuts. Beware of bears around areas of nuts.

We been seeing them in places where they have not been before.

The amount of acorns this year is amazing! In one location there was actually a carpet of them. Naturally, the bears were there too. The bears should grow a lot next year. It will also help squirrels and other rodents. I guess there was a benefit to the rain we had this summer.

There have been lots of acorns this year. Black bears have been showing up in those locations.
