Spring Turkey hunting season opens Saturday, May 1, 2010. It will continued until Monday May 31, 2010. Hunters can hunt turkeys from a half hour before dawn until noontime. There is a 2 bird limit for the entire season, and a limit of one bird per day. You will need a small game hunting license AND a turkey permit. You may hunt with a bow or shotgun. But, you may not hunt with a handgun/bullet or a rifle. You must report your take immediately.
Remember: An orange marker wrapped around a nearby tree identifies a camouflaged hunter hidden close by. Hikers should wear orange when hiking on State Land.
