Cold Spring House, soon to go?

Unread post by dundee »

Stopped for a few pics at the Cold Spring House in Tannersville. This was an old hotel that closed in the early 60's and it's slowl;y falling down. This winter seems to have have done it in, however. One of the towers has collaped and there is orange plastic fencing all the way around it now. I'm guessing that it will soon be torn down. I didn't see the owner, Mr. Khouri (sp?) anywhere around to ask him.

If you want some photos of this neat old building, you may want to do it soon.

Here are a couple early postcards of the Cold Spring House from back in the day.

The present owners have done nothing to repair it. Right now a lot of water is getting into the building and rotting out the structure. Would not be surprised if it will be torn down.

Here's a link to an article that says it will be torn down. The owner died this winter.

The old hotel seems doomed. Parts of the structure are rotted and starting to collapse. It probably could be fixed and restores, but it would take a lot of money. then you would have the town who would fight the restoration.
