Hello,
I am looking for history on the Platte Clove area, particularly in the Roaring Kill area, near the trailhead for The Devils Path trails.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The road from Woodstock to Platte Clove was heavily used in the 1800's. They also did a lot of blue stone quarry transporting to Saugerties. I have heard that there was a mill there also. The Mountain Top Historical Society in Haines Falls would have the answer.

Thanks Mike.
There is an old foundation on my family property near the Roaring Kill. I am trying to determine if it was a home, tannery, logging mill, etc. I have been to the Greene County library, talked with town historians and many others. Can't seem to pin it down.
