Snowmobiling on South Lake

Unread post by mike »

Ten days ago it was warm with 4-5 inches of rain. But, in the last week, we got a cold snap. This froze North-South Lake. South lake has 4-7 inches of ice and maybe more in places. But, with the warm front coming thru on Sunday, the ice will be pushed down by the snow, ice, and rain on Sunday. But, next week it will get cold again.

Last week Lake Creek looked like this:

Wow! I knew that it got cold, but didn't realize that it would freeze the lake over. Hard to believe that you can snowmobile over north-south lake.

There wasn't enough snow last weekend on the road, but you could ski across the lake. It has snowed some more, so it is possible that you can now.

I was up near North-South Lake today. Should be just enough snow for skiing. If we get a storm on Sunday, then there will be lots of snow for skiing and snowshoeing.
