This is a real story of a love triangle between an Egyptian Prince, a Mohawk Indian Chief, and a Mohawk Indian Princess named Lotowana. The story occured in the 1600’s. But, Lotowana is not just any Indian Princess. She was the most famous Indian princess of all time. Many compare her legend to Princess Di of England. The story takes place on the eastern escarpment of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York. The story is so profound that the story survived for 250 years by being passed on from generation-to-generation before being documented by a number of sources. The most common version of the story was writen in 1884. But, due to bitter battles with the Indians and Europeans in the 1800’s, the story lied dormant for another 100 years. Much of the land surrounding this story is the same after over 400 years. You can still go back and visit the locations of some of the most dramatic parts of this story.
